Author of Dear Damsel, Racheal Wyettey, kicked off the Greater Accra Edition of her Damsels On Fire Tour on Saturday, 15th June, 2019 with a visit to Ga Mashie.

The author, who is also known as Risa, was accompanied by a team of impact-driven volunteers. They empowered, educated and equipped damsels in Ga Mashie with selected topics namely; self-discovery, self-nurturing, healthy living, pursuing dreams, becoming independent, making effective use of the internet, and getting ready before saying I do or becoming a mother.
The message delivered to the girls varied from one person to the other, and it was delivered based on the volunteers’ interaction with the girls. In addition, they empowered female business owners in the community to make effective use of social media and technology to promote their businesses and drive sales, and equipped some with social media marketing skills. The few lucky ones received copies of the Dear Damsel book.
When asked what’s next for the Greater Accra edition of the tour, she had this to say:
“Our plan is to visit two communities and three senior high schools in the Greater Accra Region so we still have one community and three senior high schools to storm with our message. The next community we will be visiting is Osu, after which, we will proceed to the senior high schools.” She also unveiled that, it was great interacting with and impacting into these girls and so she can’t wait to do same in other communities.
